Marketing Manager


Reporting to the President and CEO, the Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in implementing the company’s strategic marketing plan which will drive Polykar’s refreshed industry branding as well its corporate culture, values and identity. The position requires experience in implementing traditional and digital marketing tools in a B to B environment and channels as well as some exposure to market research and analysis. The Marketing Manager will closely align with the Corporate Communications Manager to ensure the consistency of all content delivery, messaging, branding and corporate identity materials across all channels.

Role and Responsibilities 

A. Marketing
  1. Develop marketing plan and strategy for the organization with consultants
  2. Analyze competitive landscape and respective marketing strategy
  3. Create fresh and innovative marketing products that capture modernity and innovation in the industry, using knowledge of current marketing tools, trends and best practices
  4. Contribute out-of-the-box ideas and concepts that are brand aligned
  5. In collaboration with the Corporate Communications Manager, select and engage marketing and communications firm and project manage the re-design of the company website including researching vibrant design and relevant content
  6. Leverage creative skills to evolve the template for company presentations and product launches
  7. Assist in creating a brand-new portfolio of marketing and sales material to present to customers
  8. Conduct a weekly sweep of relevant plastics manufacturing, sustainable packaging, product innovation and other relevant news articles and features for industry trends and innovations both online and in print to share on all social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter)
  9. Track and communicate relevant developments on competitor websites for industry-specific B2B and B2C audience tools and innovations that would be of interest
  10. Support industry trade show preparation by maintaining promotional products inventory and coordinate procurement requirements for display and advertising
  11. Support client requests for marketing materials such as images, on-demand catalogues, and product descriptions
  12. Collaborate with Corporate Communications Manager for all external branding requirements for major corporate events, recruitment material, posters, presentations, sponsorships, surveys etc.
 B. Market Research
  1. Assist the Sales and Business Development team with gathering industry data
  2. Consolidate specific information into actionable items, reports and presentations
  3. Analyze autonomously qualitative data, trends, strategies and competition aimed at increasing industry competitiveness
  4. Collaborate with the Sales team to drive incoming leads via digital marketing platforms
 Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or equivalent
  • Five to eight years’ experience in general marketing positions
  • Experience in traditional marketing with market research a bonus
  • Fluently bilingual with written and verbal French a prerequisite
  • Highly creative with knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite an asset
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention detail
  • Ability to use social media and web applications to support marketing management
  • Familiar with emerging marketing trends
  • Strong organizational skills, able to manage several projects simultaneously and prioritize work independently
  • Interest and experience in sustainable packaging industry an asset
