We are looking for a talented and professional individual to be part of our Finance Team. The successful candidate will have had previous financial experience working in a fast paced and dynamic environment and will work closely with various departments including sales representatives, customer service and management. Reporting to the CFO, the Accounts Receivable Specialist must be able to work with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail to track and resolve payment issues with customers. Strong communication skills are a key component to properly execute all tasks and responsibilities. You will monitor workload and productivity of the AR work flow and interact with different internal and external parties.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Manage all AR functions which include:
  • Daily customer invoicing
  • Processing cheque deposits remotely
  • Day-to-day processing of incoming payments by EFT and cheque deposits
  • Post payments on customer accounts
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Contact customers to ensure account payments are made and follow up on any outstanding balances
  • Monitor and review collections, identify problematic accounts and follow up with various stakeholders to find permanent solutions
  • Maintain a relationship with customers to make sure payments are collected on time
  • Enhance policies and procedures around collection processes
  • Process credit applications for new customers through our AR insurer, define and monitor creditworthiness by reviewing credit levels on a recurrent basis, engage with field representatives to ensure adherence to policies and procedures
  • Monitor customer accounts relative to their assigned credit limits
  • Maintain records on credit risks, delinquent accounts and incomplete files
  • Approve new account openings and proceed to open accounts with relevant information
  • Record information about the financial status of customers and the status of collection efforts through Salesforce
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries
  • Communicate effectively with customers and sales representatives
  • Approve shipments based on payment and credit history
  • Manage customer volume-rebates contracts with sale representatives by keeping records of modifications to contracts and perform monthly calculations for accounting provisions for month-end closing

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or a Vocational Qualification in Accounting 
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position
  • Very strong communication skills - bilingual (written and oral)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respect deadlines
  • Ability to deal with a large volume of clients
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent telephone skills and willingness to quickly resolve issues
