Compostable garbage bags
Description
Polykar’s compostable bags are certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI), the Bureau de normalisation du Québec (BNQ), and meet the standards of compostability set forth by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM-D6400), meaning they will break down into carbon dioxide, water, biomass, and inorganic compounds in less than 180 days in a composting facility.
Polykar has a cobranding alliance with BASF, the global chemical company, to commercialize and promote these bags throughout North America. Ecoflex®, the compostable copolyester made by BASF, and renewable materials are used in the fabrication of these bags.
