Marketing Communications Specialist

We are looking for an energetic and organized Marketing Communications Specialist to join our dynamic team! The successful candidate is a highly motivated team player with the ability to multi-task in a growing manufacturing company. The position is for twelve-months with the possibility of an extension.
The Marketing Communications Specialist will work with the Marketing Communications team to implement a newly defined marketing and communications strategy to promote Polykar, its brand and products.
Role and Responsibilities

The Marketing Communications Specialist will:

  • Implement project deliverables as defined by the Director of Marketing within the strategic marketing plan encompassing the company’s renewed branding and industry positioning within its current B2B and potential B2C marketing sphere
  • Implement thought leadership strategy by creating engaging and educational content for social media, website, events and marketing emails
  • Create content for website and sales marketing collateral
  • Drive incoming leads via social media marketing, attending trade shows, and delivering email campaigns
  • Identify and review press releases, news items, and external communications
  • Manage and support all logistics for industry trade shows and events, including event invitations and email marketing, booth design and logistics, social media and digital assets, registrations, staffing, promo items, etc., ensuring that all tasks are delivered on time and within budget
  • Support client requests for marketing materials including images, product descriptions, and company branding requirements
  • Assign incoming website leads in CRM
  • Track and report stats on social media, website, leads and ROI for all marketing campaigns and events
  • Conduct a weekly sweep of relevant plastics manufacturing and sustainable packaging industry news articles, products and features to share on all social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter)
Qualifications and experience
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing
  • 3-5 years of experience in Marketing, preferably B2B
  • Creative with a knowledge of Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop an asset
  • Salesforce knowledge an asset
  • Experience with WordPress (or other CMS), plus social media
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment
  • Facility to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluently bilingual
  • Willingness to travel to trade shows and events
