Polykar would like to inform our clients that our existing line of black garbage bags is now EcoLogo™ certified. These bags are manufactured in accordance with the standards implemented and managed by the North American company Terrachoice and their EcoLogo™ Program.

Polykar considers the EcoLogo™ certification an essential step in their efforts to move toward greener plastic products. As more and more end-users across the nation are requesting environmentally-friendly plastic bags, Polykar has obtained the EcoLogo™ certification for plastic film products (CCD-126) in response to this growing market need.

All Polykar black garbage bags, which contain 100% recycled material and are produced in an ISO 9001 and 14001 certified facility, will now integrate the EcoLogo™ CCD-126 standard into the production specifications.

The EcoLogo™ CCD-126 certification helps to protect the environment by adopting the following requirements:

  • The bags must not be manufactured in a way that will render them technically non-recyclable
  • The bags must contain at least 20% post-consumer waste, 10% of which is household post-consumer waste

All Polykar cases that contain black garbage bags will gradually display the following EcoLogo™ symbol:
