Quality Assurance Specialist

Job description
Reporting to the Vice-President and CTO, the Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the efficiency of Polykar’s quality management systems and certifications. He will act as the lead coordinator for the food safety packaging, BRCGS, ISO9001, and ISO14000 certifications. He will also ensure that all products meet specifications of quality.Responsibilities
- To maintain the quality certifications in place, and to contribute to implement new certifications whenever required, in line with the needs of the company.
- To coordinate and lead on-site internal audits and coordinate the third-party audits.
- To evaluate audit findings and to implement appropriate corrective/preventive actions.
- To lead the root cause analysis (RCA) for all non-conformances.
- To analyze data, report the KPIs, and identify areas for continuous improvement within the BRCGS and ISO quality systems.
- To identify training needs and to organize training to meet quality standards.
- To ensure all quality reports are successfully maintained at the company software management system.
- To collect and compile statistical quality data.
- To ensure the lab is in compliance with quality certifications.
- To ensure that new or updated government regulations related to food packaging and the environment are respected.
- To analyze client complaints and put in place corrective actions.
- To work with the suppliers to ensure that all regulatory requirements are satisfied.
- To maintain regulatory documentation for all purchased raw materials.
- Any other tasks and responsibilities based on business requirements assigned by the direct manager.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry in a similar role.
- University degree in quality, science or a technical field.
- Previous knowledge of ISO9001, ISO 14000 and BRCGS certifications.
- Previous experience with HACCP, GMP, CAPA, and food safety regulations.
- Strong communication skills, detailed-oriented, and autonomous.
- Working well under pressure and with various stakeholders.
- High proficiency level with MS Office.
- Bilingual in French and English (written and verbal).
